Sebastian
Beagle Male
We adopted
Sebastian last Thanksgiving from
the Cascade Rescue. He had been
almost beaten to death by his
previous owner, had no feeling
in his hind legs, and couldn't
walk. With the love, patience,
and care of the rescue,
Sebastian has made a remarkable
recovery, and can even walk
again! The minute I saw
Sebastian's picture, I knew he
would be mine. There was
something in his face that just
spoke volumes to me. He had a
different name in rescue, so
when he came to us, we renamed
him Sebastian which means
"revered." We always want him to
know he's loved and cared for!
His "godmother" gave him the
middle name of Michael for the
arch angel. This way he'll
always have the arch angel
Michael watching over him!

Shiloh
Male
Beagle Kansas
Shiloh &
I, along with his baby sister Shasta live in
Topeka, Kansas. There are MANY things he
loves such as playing with his baby sister
(when HE wants to);" hunting" in our
backyard - Shiloh thinks he is God's gift to
the hunter; visiting at the nursing home and
at a local hospice - Shiloh is a registered
visiting therapy dog; being around children
at the library so they can read to him -
Shiloh is a certified R.E.A.D. dog and
sleeping on the couch but he IS a Beagle so
I believe his most favorite - EATING - ANY
food he can find. Being able to share him is
what makes him so special and not just to me
but to those we visit. I think when we are
visiting - he LOVES it - you can tell by his
actions - trotting down the hallways with
his tail held high, wagging back & forth -
and I love being able to do that with him.
One more thing that makes him special -
snuggling on the sofa. |

Ranger
Beagle
Female
Ranger loves running outside,
playing with her Beagle brother
and sister, giving out love to
anyone that will let her, she's
just a sweetheart. Another
favorite pastime of hers is
eating, but that's not unusual
for a Beagle ;)
Ranger is a very special girl
that didn't have it easy in the
first 8 months of her live. She
came to us because she needed a
better home then she had. Since
then Ranger has endured things
like a degenerative spine
disease and surgery after eating
part of a rug. She had half her
small intestines removed and we
almost lost her. But you
wouldn't know it today. She is 7
years old and everyone would
still think she is a puppy, the
only thing giving her age away
is all that grey in her face :-)
She's just goofy and lovey all
the way around. I think this
picture of her, recently taken,
says it all.

Pansy
Female
Beagle Chattanooga, TN
Pansy is a 2 1/2 yr. old female beagle. We
live near Chattanooga, TN. Two weeks after
my precious husband of 35 yrs. passed away
from cancer, my daughters thought I needed a
beagle puppy to "rescue" me. One drove me a
couple hours away to pick her out and
another paid for her and her initial
vetting. She has such a sweet disposition
and is so good with all my grandchildren.
She still loves to play rough with the grand
dogs that come to visit! Pansy is so much
company to me and I love her dearly. I hope
I can make her as happy as she makes me. |

Gizmo
Male
Beagle
Everett, Washington
Our dog's name is Gizmo, he is a 2 year
old male Beagle. He brings a lot of joy
into our home and everyone loves him.
His favorite things to do besides sleep,
eat and smell is play with old tied
together socks, or his fire hose toy.
Walks are fun but slow with Gizmo as we
must sniff everything and anything. He
loves to chase my cat around the house,
I think she kind of enjoys it too!

Millie
Female
Beagle
Marblehead, Massachusetts
Millie and her soul mate Barkley were
rescued in Indiana and ended
out in Pennsylvania in 2005. They were in
terrible physical
condition, but their foster parents nursed
them back to health and
put them up for adoption, hoping they would
go together. We drove
all night from Marblehead, MA to State
College, PA to arrive early in
the morning. Their gotcha day is April
15th..tax day!!! and we
estimate their birthdays are July
4th....perfect since they have
their own built in noisemakers! Millie loves
to get dressed up but
doesn't like the camera flash. This picture
was taken after about 5
others so she was getting pretty unhappy,
but the look is priceless. |

Love Bandit
Female
BeagleMix
Illinois
The puppy was found along a country road
here in East Central
Illinois. She was well behaved, house
trained and in heat, her first
heat. She was later spayed.
She is very loving but is also a terror. She
chews everything including my glasses, book covers,
furniture, the wires out of my
electric blanket (unplugged) and the control
knob on my electric
wheelchair. She likes to play rough with my
neighbor's rat
terriers. She comes in very tired and
snuggles with me in my bed.

Rocket
Male
Beagle Anaheim, California
Here's
Rocket, the 5 yr. old, 13" boss of our home,
who totally "owns" Roddy & Deb Rauls here in
Anaheim, CA. He lives life to the fullest,
whether he's snoring, ridding the
neighborhood of evil cats, or playing with
his family/friends. You just can't beat a beagle
when it comes to adding a member to the household!
This is a photo of him doing his "Lab lifts"
to keep him in shape. |
